GM H-Body:   Used Car Price Guide

Buying and selling any car can be tricky even when you know it's value and finding "used car prices" for H-Bodies can be difficult to say the least.   My advice is for you to consult your bank or insurance company first.   They'll have a used car price guide and usually let you use it free of charge.   If they don't have one, visit your local library and ask for the current NADA Classic, Collectable, and Special Interest Car Appraisal Guide.   As an example only, I have a nearly complete list of H-Body prices to use as a baseline for your H-Body.   You'll notice the absence of several highly prized and rare H-Bodies such as the Buick Nighthawk, Chevrolet Monza Spyder, Chevrolet Monza Mirage, and Oldsmobile Firenza.   It is a real dilemma determining the value of the Nighthawk, Spyder, Mirage, or Firenza and I would suggest reviewing the Cosworth Vega prices as a guide.   Just remember, that often these vehicles are worth more to a true H-Body collector than they are to the average person.   This can work for or against you, depending on your position.   On a final note, neither v8monza.com or myself will be held liable for any losses to sellers or buyers for their use of this information.   This site will not engage in appraisals of vehicles and is only providing this information as an aid to buyers and sellers.   Lastly, v8monza.com will not give out buying or selling advice, so please don't e-mail us questions about the value of any car as we can't respond.

Remember to adjust for optional equipment.   Optional equipment includes but is not limited to, optional engines (basic engine is identified for each model), air conditioning, AM/FM radio, AM/FM stereo radio, 3-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, posi-traction rear axle, suspension handling packages (basic on some models), power brakes, power steering, various exterior trim molding, stripe/styling packages, sun roof, rear window defogger, tinted glass, tinted windshield, tilt steering wheel, electric clock, clock and tach, right sport mirror, remote-control left sport mirror, rear speaker, windshield antenna, full-length console, adjustable driver's seat back, front/rear mats, and custom sport wheels.

Let the haggling begin,
Bob Gumm
